Lord told News Center 7 that the suspect called 911 and told dispatchers that they shot a family member.
“There was a 911 call regarding somebody asserting that they had shot a family member, and then walked to the end of the driveway and was waiting for the deputies to arrive,” Lord said.
Lord said deputies arrested the suspect. He said the suspect is in their twenties, but couldn’t share any other details.
“No longer a threat to the community, everything seems contained, and like I said, it’s just a domestic dispute,” Lord said.
News Center 7 crews on the scene noticed crime tape surrounding the house and deputies focusing on the garage.
Lord said the sheriff’s office applied for a search warrant to look inside.
“We’ll process the crime scene, we’ll conduct interviews with the people that were involved and then we’ll be checking the prognosis of the victim,” he said.
The victim was flown to Miami Valley Hospital with unknown injuries.
Online jail records indicate that Daniel Henry Davis Junior, 22, was arrested at that location Monday night. He was booked on a felony count of aggravated attempted murder. Davis is in Miami County Jail awaiting arraignment.
