DANGEROUS COLD: Cold Weather Advisory for entire region, below zero wind chills

MIAMI VALLEY — The Miami Valley is dealing with frigid temperatures this week.

The entire region is under a Cold Weather Advisory until Wednesday morning.

This includes Auglaize, Butler, Champaign, Clark, Clinton, Darke, Greene, Logan, Mercer, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, Shelby, and Warren counties in Ohio.

The advisory is also in effect for Randolph, Union, and Wayne counties in Indiana.

Our Storm Center 7 team of meteorologists continues to TRACK these dangerous cold temperatures. They have the latest TIMING of when we could see a warmup today on News Center 7 at 5:00, 5:30, and 6:00.

The entire region will see dangerous chills now through Wednesday.

Ritz says today’s wind chills will range between -10 to -20 degrees.

New data points towards a slight break from the intense wind chills on Tuesday. However, conditions will still be dangerous with wind chills between 0 to -10 degrees.

Wednesday morning looks to be the worst of the cold with possible wind chills of -20 degrees, according to Ritz.

Frozen pipe risks will be heightened, along with frostbite and hypothermia risks.

Anyone outside will want to cover as much exposed skin as possible to help mitigate some of the frostbite risks.

Ritz adds that limiting time outdoors is the best solution. Keeping pets indoors is also a great idea.
