Chick-fil-A officials said the slight adjustment helps the fries stay crispier for longer. The new recipe does not include any of the nine major allergens.
The new coating does contain pea starch, WSB-TV reported.
Customers have expressed a mixed reaction to the change on social media, with a majority of comments on the chain restaurant’s most recent post on Facebook and Instagram being about the fires.
Many commenters have stated that the fries taste different to them and they want the original fries back.
Chick-fil-A officials say the recipe has been tested for over a year and that the fries still have “the same great taste.”
This isn’t the only recipe change that Chick-fil-A has made over the past year, WSB-TV reported.
In May 2024, the chicken restaurant chain said they switched from “No Antibiotics Ever (NAE)” chicken to “No Antibiotics Important to Human Medicine (NAIHM)” chicken.
