WILBERFORCE — A campus police officer at Central State University is on leave after an incident on March 1.

As reported on News Center 7 at 6:00, a video began circulating amongst students of the alleged incident shortly after it happened.
The video shows a student sitting on the floor talking to the officer as the officer attempts to force the student to put his hands behind his back.

“There was an unfortunate incident involving a student in a campus residence hall and a campus police officer,” a statement from Central State reads.
The university said the officer will be off duty until further notice.
Azaria Derricks said she lives in the residence hall where the incident allegedly occurred.
Central State has not confirmed if the video circulating on social media is of the incident.
She said students and campus leaders had a meeting to discuss what happened, but she’s not hopeful she will see change.
“It’s been plenty of times we have talked about different stuff. Do stuff get changed? No,” she said.
