The Import House in Yellow Springs announced their upcoming closure on social media Sunday afternoon.

The business sells a variety of products including clothing, jewelry, tapestries, hookahs and hand-blown glass products.

“Over the past several years, retail has generally declined, and it has been especially challenging for family-owned shops in smaller communities like ours,” the post said.

The owners of Import House said they formed lifelong friendships, found their life partners and spouses, and watched their families grow in this community.

“The dedication, support, and kindness of those we worked with, partnered with in business, and welcomed through our doors will remain with us all,” the post said.

The Import House’s second location, in Athens, closed at the end of October last year.

The final day has not been announced, but the owners expect to close around the end of the month.
