Bengals, Rams joint practice ends early after things ‘got a little scuffle-y’ with fights on field

CINCINNATI — The joint practice between the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams was cut short Thursday after fights broke out between the two teams.

Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said things “got a little scuffle-y” in the last period, our news partners at WCPO in Cincinnati reported.

After the fight between Cincinnati’s first-team offense and Los Angeles’ first-team defense, both teams decided to end the practice early.

WCPO reported that things got heated during 11-on-11 drills. Bengals offensive lineman La’el Collins was seen throwing a helmet and minutes later, a bigger fight broke out.

A video shared to social media showed Rams Pro Bowl defensive tackle Aaron Donald swinging at least one Bengals helmet.

“Emotions run high,” Taylor said. “We’ve been working together for two days now and that’s just some really competitive guys getting into it a little bit.”

The teams, who faced off in Super Bowl LVI, will play each other in their final preseason game on Aug. 27 at 6 p.m.
