As reported on News Center 7 at 5:30 Friday, 937 Salon and Spa is closing its Kettering location on April 26 after six years.
The salon owners have another location in Yellow Springs, focusing on hair. They said closing the Kettering location will allow them to simplify their lives, allow more time for family, and cut down on their commute time since they live in Yellow Springs.
“Low maintenance hairstyles, color. People are no longer getting haircuts, and some are cutting their hair at home,” Jason Laveck, salon co-owner said.

“We’re having one stylist follow us, but that was, I would say, the hardest part of the decision because we love our great team,” Ester Laveck, co-owner, said.
Customers were upset to learn of the salon’s closure.
“I’m devastated because Yellow Springs is a long ways away,” Karen Arkin of Oakwood said.
As April 26 gets closer Ester and Jason are selling supplies and equipment.
“We’re hoping someone would come in and take over, purchase the equipment. And open up a space where this legacy can live on,” Laveck said.
