Alleged drunk driver crashes into patio of Dayton restaurant

DAYTON — The patio of a restaurant in Dayton was damaged after a car crash early Saturday morning.

The crash happened at approximately 3:10 a.m. at Jimmie’s Ladder 11, which is located at 936 Brown Street.

A Dayton Police Department crash report indicates that a 26-year-old man lost control of a Ford F-150 while driving south on Brown Street and hit the building.

The man left the crash scene before police arrived.

The restaurant will remain open as employees “sweep up the remnants” of the building’s front patio, according to a post by Jimmie’s Ladder 11.

Officers believe the driver was under the influence of alcohol when the crash occurred, according to the crash report.

“Come in and check out the damage and support us if you’re hungry! Please drink responsibly as always,” Jimmie’s Ladder 11 said in the post.
