MARION, Ohio — An 87-year-old man accused of following a child home from school was arrested on a public indecency charge, according to a spokesperson with the Marion Police Department.

Marion police received a complaint about a suspicious white Hyundai that followed a student home from Grant Middle School on Wednesday, Jan. 29.

While investigating, the police department increased patrols at and around the middle school on Thursday to make sure students were safe.
A Flock camera helped officers identify the suspect, the spokesperson said.
The Ohio Adult Parole Authority and the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office arrested Wayne Lee Barrows, 87, of Bucyrus, on a parole violation.
According to the spokesperson, officers traveled to Crawford County and interviewed Barrows, who was later charged with felony public indecency.
Barrow was transported and booked into the Marion Multi-County Corrections Center.
