DAYTON — A 20-year-old woman was seriously injured in a shooting in Dayton Monday night, according to Dayton Police Lieutenant Steven Bauer.

The shooting was initally reported near the area of W Riverview Avenue and Kumler Avenue at approximately 8:09 p.m., according to a previous News Center 7 report.

Officers determined the shooting occurred in the 300 block of Oxford Avenue, Bauer said.
Video from an iWitness 7 reporter shows a large police presence and crime scene tape blocking off the area of Oxford Avenue and Lexington Avenue Monday night.
Bauer said the victim was taken to an area hospital via private conveyance with a life-threatening injury.
Officers found and arrested the suspect, a 21-year-old man, according to Bauer.
Devin Lamar Rogers, 21, was arrested by Dayton police at 331 Oxford Avenue at approximately 11:29 p.m. on one count of discharge of a firearm on or near prohibited premises and two counts of felonious assault, according to Montgomery County Jail records.
The department has not confirmed Rogers is the suspect.
Dayton Police Department Homicide Unit detectives are investigating this shooting.
