Springfield Police announced on Tuesday that a total of three men have now been charged with the shooting on Larch Street that left two men dead on Jan. 26.

On Jan. 30, police arrested Riley Haynes, 24, in connection to the shooting. Another suspect, 21-year-old Nathan Keaton, was arrested in Jefferson County, Alabama with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service.

As News Center 7 previously reported, police arrested Jaron Coley, 18, on Jan. 28 in connection to the shooting.

All three men have been charged with aggravated murder, murder, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, and felonious assault.

Police were called to the 2100 block of Larch Street on initial reports of a shooting just after 10:15 p.m. on Jan. 26. When they got to the scene they found Clifton Cummings, 35, and Spencer Sharp, 30, suffering from gunshot wounds.

Cummings died at the scene and Sharp died from his injuries at Springfield Regional Medical Center.

Police previously said Coley set up a drug deal at the home, but not so he could buy drugs. Instead, he reportedly did that so a group he was with, which included Haynes and Keaton, could get into Sharp’s home and rob him, but gunfire ended up being exchanged.

“Mr. Sharp was going to be robbed by these four subjects, including the other victim, Mr. Cummings,” Sgt. James Bryon said, noting that evidence was found showing that the group planned the robbery together.

As reported on News Center 7 at 5:00, police discovered three weapons at the scene.
