MADISON TWP. — An 11-year-old boy is dead after being hit by an SUV Thursday night.

The Butler County Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team and the Madison Township Life Squad responded to the 6800 block of Cloister Cliffs Drive on reports of a person hit by a vehicle around 7:12 p.m. on Thursday.

An initial investigation showed that an 11-year-old boy had been hit by an SUV while in his driveway, according to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.
Life-saving measures were attempted, but the child died from his injuries.
The boy has only been identified as a student at Madison Elementary School.
The district canceled classes on Friday in response to the crash and offered counselors for those who needed support.
Sheriff Richard K. Jones said he “can’t really think of a more tragic accident than this one.”
The crash remains under investigation.
