1 hospitalized, 1 cited after crash in Darke County

DARKE COUNTY — One person was hospitalized and another was cited after a crash in Darke County Friday evening.

Around 8:28 p.m. deputies and medics were dispatched to the 9100 block of State Route 118 in Greenville on reports of a crash.

The preliminary investigation showed a black Toyota Carolla driven by 30-year-old Emilson Hernandez of Peru, Indiana was heading south on SR 118.

Hernandez attempted to turn left into a private drive by traveling into the path of a black Honda Accord driven by 60-year-old Don Stanley of Covington, Ohio, who was heading northbound on SR 118.

The Honda struck the Toyota and both cars were disabled in the middle of the roadway.

Stanley was taken to Wayne Healthcare for suspected minor injuries.

Hernandez did not report any injuries. He was issued a citation for failure to yield when making a left-hand turn.

The crash remains under investigation.
