DAYTON — One person is dead after an apartment fire in Dayton early Saturday morning, according to Dayton Fire Department Assistant Chief Brad French.

The fire occurred at an apartment complex in the 800 block of Riverview Terrace around 5:20 a.m., according to a previous News Center 7 report.

Upon arrival, firefighters saw heavy fire conditions coming from a three-story apartment building.
Crews quickly searched the building looking for anyone trapped and began fighting the fire with hose lines.
Firefighters found and removed an adult victim from the structure in critical condition, French said.
This adult was transported to a local hospital, where they later died from their injuries. Their identity was not immediately available.
Two other people sustained injuries while trying to get out of the building. They were also transported to a local hospital, according to a previous News Center 7 report.
The Dayton Fire Department Fire Investigation Unit determined that the cause of this fire was accidental.
