Beavercreek native seeks Christmas miracle to save son’s life

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A Beavercreek native is wishing for a Christmas miracle as her 4-month-old son has an extremely rare condition and needs a bone marrow transplant.

Jessica Ansari and her husband, Amin have been married for five years. Jessica is a first-grade teacher and Amin is on active duty with the Air National Guard. They currently live in Columbus with their two children. Their daughter, Emily, is almost 2.

Their son, Noah, just turned 4-months old on Dec. 13. At six-weeks old Noah was diagnosed with an extremely rare genetic disease known as Wiskott-Aldrich Syndrome.

Amin said, “Not only is he one in a million in our hearts, but he’s truly one in a million. So one in a million boys throughout the world contract this genetic disease.”

Noah’s disease makes him immunodeficient and extremely prone to infections and bleeding. Because of this, milestones, like learning to crawl or walk could be catastrophic.

Amin said, “If he takes a fall or he ever gets a little scratch, he doesn’t stop bleeding, or it takes a long time. Even a bump on his belly could put him at risk for internal bleeding.”

As part of his treatment plan, doctors said Noah needs a bone marrow transplant as quickly as possible.

“With Noah, we need a 10 out of 10 match to have a successful recovery and we haven’t found that 10 out of 10 yet,” Jessica said.

Amin said, “It’s really like finding a needle in a haystack. The more people we get tested, the more chances they could help someone else.”

The couple is working with bethematch.org. They have a link where you can request a mouth swab test kit to find out if you could be a donor match for Noah. However, your results will stay on the bone marrow registry and could help someone else.

The family of four is hoping for a Christmas miracle.

“I think that definitely would be the best gift we could get. We just want to give him his best chance at making a full recovery so he can be a healthy little boy.”
