12-year-old in critical condition after being shot multiple times; Suspect in custody

COVINGTON, Kentucky — A person has been arrested after a 12-year-old boy was shot multiple times in a Covington, Kentucky, neighborhood on Sunday evening.

Officers responded to the 4300 block of McKee Street just before 5 p.m. for a report of a shooting, our news partners WCPO-9 TV reported.

Upon arrival, officers found a 12-year-old boy who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The child was transported to Cincinnati Children’s with life-threatening injuries, WCPO-9 TV reported.

The child remains in critical condition, according to Covington Police Capt. Justin Bradbury.

Monday morning, Covington Police announced that 19-year-old Jayden Marsha was arrested and charged with attempted murder, WCPO-9 TV reported.

Investigators do not believe that there is an ongoing threat to the public.

The shooting remains under investigation.
