Of course, the unseasonably warm temperatures on the way had the Storm Center 7 team wondering how close the temperatures will be to record highs for the Dayton area. Here’s what we found out.

It’s unlikely the Dayton area will break the record high for Saturday as high temperatures are forecast to be near the middle 80s. That is no where near the record high for May 22nd set in 1902 at 92 degrees.

Sunday’s high will be a bit closer to the daily record, but not likely to break it. Right now, the predicted high for Sunday is forecast to be in the upper 80s. The daily record high 90 degrees for May 23rd was set in 1939.

All that aside, it’s important to remember to take the proper precautions to stay safe when temperatures get this warm. Remember to drink plenty of fluids, wear light colored and loose fitted clothing, hats, and find shade when feeling over heated. Finally, the UV index will be very high through the weekend, so don’t forget the sunblock.
