LOS ANGELES — Shortly after the Cincinnati Bengals fell short in Super Bowl LVI, several players took to social media to give their thoughts and the feelings of the team after the loss.
A tweet by quarterback Joe Burrow went viral with over 34,000 retweets, apologizing to fans for the Bengals’ loss in football’s biggest game.
“Sorry we couldn’t get it done. Proud of our team and our fans. Love these guys,” Burrow said in the tweet.
Burrow finished the game with 22 completions for 263 yards and one touchdown.
Rookie standout wide receiver Ja’marr Chase had a one-word response to Sunday’s outcome which probably summarized how all Bengals fans felt.
On the defensive side of the football, two Bengals standouts had positive reactions, thanking teammates and fans.
Cornerback Chidobe Awuzie, like Chase, had a short but simple message for fans.
