No. 2 Ohio State scores 28 points in 4th quarter to win at Penn State

STATE COLLEGE, PA — Number 2 Ohio State scored four touchdowns in the fourth quarter to beat Penn State on the road, 44-31, Saturday afternoon in State College, Pennsylvania.

J.T. Tuimoloau forced and recovered a fumble with 8:26 left. He also returned an interception 14-yards for a touchdown to seal the game.

Buckeye quarterback C.J. Stroud passed for 354 yards and a touchdown. Wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. caught 10 passes for 185 yards while TreVeyon Henderson ran for 78 yards and two scores.

Ohio State improves to 8-0 overall, 5-0 in the Big 10.

The Buckeyes jumped out to a 10-0 lead after one quarter on Noah Ruggles’ 38-yard field goal and Miyan Williams’ four-yard touchdown run.

Sean Clifford threw a pair of second quarter touchdowns, a 58-yarder to Parker Washington and 23-yards to KeAndre Lambert-Smith to take a 14-10 advantage. Ruggles’ 37-yard field cut it to 14-13. Ohio State had a chance at the lead with seven seconds left in the half but Johnny Dixon sacked C.J. Stroud to end the half.

Ruggles made a 40-yard field with 10 seconds left in the third quarter to take a 16-14 lead.

Penn State regained the lead, 21-16, on a one-yard touchdown run by Kaytron Allen.

TreVeyon Henderson put the Buckeyes up for good, 23-21, with a 41-yard touchdown run with 8:51 left.

After Tuimoloau’s sack and fumble recovery, C.J. Stroud hit Cade Stover for a 24-yard touchdown pass to expand it to 30-21.

Jake Pinergar’s 44-yard field goal got the Nittany Lions within six, 30-24, with 5:49 remaining.

TreVeyon Henderson capped a 7 play, 75-yard drive with a seven-yard touchdown run with 2:52 left. Tuimoloau’s pick-six sealed the win for the Buckeyes

Ohio State is back in action next Saturday, November 5, when they travel to Evanston, Illinois to play Northwestern at 12 p.m.
