CINCINNATI — It’s official, fan-favorite C.J. Uzomah is leaving the Bengals for the New York Jets.

On March 17 Uzomah posted on his social media a thank you note to Cincinnati after reports came out he was leaving the team.

“To the Jungle, you are some of the most passionate and loyal people I’ve ever come across. I appreciate all that you’ve poured into me throughout my time here and words won’t be able to express what you have meant to me,” he said in the post.

During an introductory conference call with media Thursday, Uzomah said culture sold him on the Jets.

“I think getting to talk to Michael Carter, the coaching staff and seeing how they want to run the offense, honestly its a culture thing,” He said.

Uzomah added that he hopes to bring a veteran presence to the team full of young players.

Uzomah ended his seven-year campaign with the Bengals with a career-high of 49 receptions for 493 yards and 5 touchdowns.
