Bengals waived long-time punter and former UC Bearcat Kevin Huber

CINCINNATI — The Cincinnati Bengals have waived long-time punter and former Cincinnati Bearcat Kevin Huber, the team announced Monday.

Huber was a 2009 fifth-round draft pick from the University of Cincinnati and played a team-record 216 games, including 138 consecutive games from 2014-22.

He is the Bengals’ career leader in every statistical category for punting, including 1011 total punts, 45,766 punting yards, a gross average of 45.27 per punt, net average 40.34 yards per punt and 346 punts inside an opponent’s 20-yard line.

“Kevin was our punter for a very long time,” said Bengals President Mike Brown in a statement. “We appreciated every moment he was here. He has been a steadying force for us, an excellent player and a good person.”

Huber was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2014 and served as the team’s holder on placekicks his entire career.

“Any football team would be blessed to have him for the length of time we did,” Brown said.
