Incumbent Troy Mayor Robin Oda takes primary election by 2%

TROY — Incumbent Mayor Robin Oda has taken the primary election, but it’s a close call.

With the final results in Oda has taken 51 percent of the votes and William Lutz has 49 percent.

With the results being this close it is possible an automatic recount will be triggered, but this has not been confirmed by the board of elections.

Oda announced in March 2022 that she would seek a second four-year term.

“A rare winter tornado and COVID started my term off with immediate impact which we still feel today,” her campaign material reads.

Lutz has been city council president for four years — the same amount of time Oda has been mayor.

“I am committed to grow our community to make it a place where our children and grandchildren can have a bright future,” Lutz wrote on social media.

Oda said she will remain mayor through the end of December 2023, but this election will likely decide who will be mayor on Jan. 1, 2024.
