Reconstruction project on I-75 begins tonight; Nightly lane closures expected

DAYTON — Construction projects on Interstate 75 in Montgomery County will impact travel starting on Sunday.

There will be a major reconstruction of I-75 between State Route 725 and U.S. 35 which includes a traffic pattern shift, ramp closures and lane restrictions in each direction, according a spokesperson for the Ohio Department of Transportation.

There will also be new pavement, storm sewers, lighting, and minor bridge repairs.

Nightly lane closures are expected in each direction of I-75 from March 26 to April 21 and will take place from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m.

Crews will be working to shift one lane of the northbound traffic to the southbound side of I-75, ODOT said.

Estimated time of completion of this project is the summer of 2025.

On March 27-29, the left lane will be closed on Northbound Interstate 75 between Edwin C. Moses Boulevard and Stanley Avenue from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. as road crews will be working on highway lighting.

Starting Sunday, March 26, through Monday, March 27, there will also be lane closures in each direction of I-75 between State Route 725 and U.S. 35 as crews will be stringing new utility lines on existing pole lines.

On April 3, the ramp from Dryden Road to Northbound Interstate 75 will be closed through July 2025. The detour will be Dryden Road to Northlawn Avenue to Springboro Pike (State Route 741). From there, drivers can get access to NB I-75.
