Demetrius Turner, 32, was found and arrested in West Carrollton around 12:16 p.m. As reported on News Center 7 at 5:00, he was spotted by a couple walking down the street and called 911.

“Without that, we wouldn’t have him in custody,” Miamisburg Police Chief Mike Brem said.

Police began looking for Turner after a woman was found shot multiple times in a home on Golden Arrow Court in Miamisburg around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Miamisburg Police identified the victim as Leslie Ross, 52, of Dayton.

“Turner has met her at some point in the last week or two, we think,” Brem said.

Police confirmed they arrested the homeowner on an unrelated felony drug warrant Wednesday night and that they have a history of drug complaints at the house.

Turner was not at the scene when police arrived. Police then began searching for him with the help of the Ohio State Highway Patrol and multiple drones, K9s, and officers from several surrounding agencies.

Police released body camera video showing Turner’s arrest on Thursday. Brem said after his arrest, he was taken to a local hospital after complaining of chest pains.

He’ll be booked into the Montgomery County Jail on a preliminary murder charge upon his release.
